Weekly Announcements


“Seek ye first the Kingdom of God”. You are invited to begin your day with members of the church family on a phone teleconference each morning Monday through Friday, 6:30 – 6:40 for prayer and meditation. Simply dial 1.515.739.1015, follow the instructions and enter 505-087-623 as the meeting ID. This year we will be using the book My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers for the devotional reading. Please call in by 6:28 a.m.


THE HCBC NURSERY! The nursery is located in the Jesse Barnes, Jr. Family Life Center, first classroom on the left. Entrance Double doors nearest the JBJFLC will NOT be accessible. Please enter the church as normal and proceed to the JBJFLC. Remember, parents MUST sign their child in with complete name, age and parent's/guardian's cell number to be reached during service.


The Maggie R. Johnson Give Back to the Community Ministry is accepting winter clothing. Please contact Sister Susan Thomas at 706-351-9670.


Need a ride? To request transportation for Sunday service, please contact the church office before noon on Fridays.


Dance classes are offered here at Hill Chapel Baptist Church Tuesday nights in the Life Center. Line Dance Class: 6:00 — 7:00 p.m.; Ballroom Dance Class: 7:15 — 8:15 p.m. Classes are $5 per person. For information, see Minister Charlie Maddox


A ministry for senior members ages 55 and over is being organized. An upcoming breakfast and meeting will be announced soon. Survey forms inserted in today’s bulletin should be returned to an usher, Linda N. Smith, Rev. or Mrs. Herron.


The Ninth District Opportunity’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program began assistance with heating cost for gas or electric for every resident age 65 or older or homebound due to health reasons November 1. The program opens to the general public December 1. For information, please call 855-636-3108 or online at www.ndo.org.


A study that will look at the health-related quality of life of stroke survivors with aphasia or language impairment or survivors without aphasia with no history of psychiatric disorders or other neurological disorders is being conducted. Volunteers must be ages 18 or older who self-identifies as African-American or Black or volunteers can participate as a healthy control. If interested, contact Devetrina S. Give your teens and pre-teens a memorable experience this spring and summer! Spring Academy will offer an enriching and fun week at the University of Georgia March 11-15. Spring Academy will offer three courses to choose from: Mini Medical School, Photog- raphy and Creative Writing. Students ages 12-15 are welcome to enroll in the courses of their choice. Register now! Plan now for Summer Academy at UGA camps—registration opens February 6. UGA also offers courses to help prepare your teen for the SAT or ACT.


Know Someone Who Needs Help READING? Everyday Readers is an Adult Literacy Community for ages 18-88 and up. Join people who are learning to read and read better. Work one-on-one and in small groups.
